This project was an absolute blast, though it did have its challenges/ difficulties. First, coming up with an idea was super difficult for me because I have a hard time committing and think my ideas are good. However, with a bit of encouragement from my girlfriend I was ready to go, I story boarded the first part of the project and the work the rest of the shots out in my head, from there I had my girlfriend be my cameraman and we started filming. She has no previous experience behind the camera but I’d say with the little direction I gave her she did an amazing job and it turned out great. We filmed everything prior to the animated shot in one night. After that I started chipping away at my animation, I breezed through the photoshop portion but the after effects is when things started getting difficult. Because i wanted to make my characters talk i had to find mouth sprites and import all the different layers and then line them up on the faces in the right size and and proportion while maintaining the right duration for each sprite, it was definitely a pain and I wish I did it better but was great learning experience. I also wish I could have key frame the smoke better or even found or made better looking smoke, all in all though I wasn't disappointed. Due to poor time management I ran out of time at the end to record the audio with my girlfriend so I just did both parts, but I think it was funny and turned out pretty good. Overall I think the project was a success and also a massive learning opportunity that has inspired me to do more with after effects in photoshop and I even helped do graphics and some after effects for my documentary projects film. Can't wait to do more!
